Endurance saddles are designed for use in endurance riding, which requires very long hours in the saddle and often over rough terrain. 

Averaging 8mph, a rider will spend 10 hours in the saddle to complete an 80 mile endurance ride and endurance saddles have developed to deal with this workload.

Endurance saddles are lighter so that the horse is asked to carry as little weight as possible over the distance. The seat is designed for comfort although endurance riders often ride for considerable distances stood on their stirrups to reduce the strain on the horse’s back.
